Identity design

Chifafa is a premium kebab concept in Clerkenwell Road. Serving fresh, ethically sourced food their aim was to overhaul the perception of the kebab by making it the default choice for discerning, time-poor Londoners.

I was asked to develop a ‘gritty’ and real’ hand made identity that could be used on their shop front and across their packaging.

DEVELOPMENT

I wanted to create a sense of boldness and energy, so I experimented with various combinations of brushes, papers, paints and inks, varying from japanese ink painting brushes with indian ink and quink to bog standard decorating brushes with acrylic.

REFINING THE MARK

Once the client and I were happy with a particular combination, the forms were vectorised and refined, tweaking the kerning and shape of the letters to create an energetic flowing wordmark
