ENABLING YOUNG PEOPLE TO BECOME DIGITAL MAKERS
Mixital has just been launched as a public Beta as part of the BBC’s Make it Digital intitative, aimed towards getting a new generation to be creative with digital. By teaming up with big brands, the concept allows users to move from being digital consumers to digital creators, giving them a space to create and share their work. I was part of a team that created the UX and visual design, working with Vix Young and Margarida da Marça.
OFFERING FANS NEW WAYS TO ENGAGE WITH THEIR FAVOURITE BRANDS
Nesta’s report into young digital makers highlighted that there was a huge apetite for digital creation, but limited outlets for their creativity. The solution was to provide simple tools that used familiar assets and could be beasily shared.
Partnering with big BBC brands like Eastenders, BBC Introducing, Strictly Come Dancing and BBC Arts, we created a space that hosted a number of differing digital exeriences that challenged the user’s digital creativity, ranging in experience level.
BUILDING A MOVEMENT
We also created a space for them to save their creations, and join a community of people, creating, sharing and commenting.
